British star Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs) is hungry to get in the ring after being passed over for a lucrative date with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Khan sat on the shelf since last April, believing that he would secure a date with Mayweather on May 3rd. Instead, Mayweather selected Marcos Maidana for a unification encounter.

Several names are being discussed for Khan's next fight, which is going to take place in late April or May. And one of the names that really interests Khan is former three division champion Adrien Broner (27-1, 22KOs), who suffered his first career loss last December against Maidana.

"I want to fight a top name in the welterweight division to cement my name at 147," Khan said to Sky Sports. "[My return] will probably be at the end of April or in May. There are a few names put to me, someone like Broner would be a great fight for me. And [my next fight] would be in America. I'm going to sit down with Golden Boy and my team. I want to fight the best guys in the welterweight division and cement my place there."
