More than two years after the suspicious death of three-time world champion Arturo Gatti, the late boxer’s wife, Amanda Rodrigues Gatti, is set to speak out for the first time regarding the incident during this Saturday’s season premiere episode of 48 Hours Mystery on CBS.

Rodrigues Gatti, who has claimed her innocence since the onset, will speak with CBS’s Erin Moriarty about the couples’ tumultuous relationship and the events that surrounded the final hours of the boxer’s life.

Also to appear in the piece will be “Irish” Micky Ward, the Lowell, Ma brawler who will be forever linked with Gatti for their three unforgettable toe to toe wars in the ring.  Ward, who was recently portrayed by actor Mark Wahlberg in the film “The Fighter”, a story about Ward’s inspirational career, has contended all along that the Arturo Gatti he knew would never take his own life.  Ward has stated previously that he won’t say for sure that Rodrigues Gatti killed his foe turned friend, but that he’s convinced she knows what really happened.

In a recent press conference held in North Bergen, NJ, a team of medical and scientific expert witnesses from across the country gave a series of presentations debunking the Brazilian authorities’ conclusion that Gatti had committed suicide.

The committee, assembled and funded by close associates and family of the boxer, presented conflicting evidence to that of the Brazilians, concluding that Gatti had been struck by a blunt object, then was strangled.

A hearing is currently playing out in a Canadian courtroom to determine the division of Gatti’s assets.  At the center of the hearing is a suspiciously timed will that Gatti signed 3 weeks before his untimely death, leaving all of his assets, an estimated $6.5M, to Rodrigues Gatti.

The 48 Hours Mystery on CBS featuring the Gatti Investigation will premiere this Saturday 9/24 at 10 PM ET. Catch a preview of the episode here: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7381440n
