Boxing fans are officially one sleep away from the dawning of a new era in the bridgerweight division. Lukasz Rozanski and Alen Babic both made weight for their globally anticipated vacant WBC bridgerweight title fight, which takes place Saturday on Sky Sports from G2A Arena in Rzeszow, Poland. The locally based Rozanski was 222 ¼ pounds, while Croatia’s Babic tipped the scales at a trim and fit 210 ¾ pounds.

The BOXXER team will once again hit the road. The UK-based promotional outfit confirmed its role as a partner in the previously announced Alen Babic-Lukasz Rozanski WBC Bridgerweight title fight. BOXXER has teamed with local promoter Knockout Promotions, allowing for its fighters to appear on the April 22 show at a yet-to-be-named location in Rzeszow, Poland.

It's official: Polish Knockout Promotions, headed by Andrzej Wasilewski, announced today that the fight for the vacant WBC bridgerweight championship between Lukasz Rozanski (14-0) and Croatian Alen "The Savage" Babic (11-0) will go ahead on April 22 in Rzeszow.

Alen Babic faces a potential road trip for his first major title fight. KnockOut (KO) Promotions secured the rights to the vacant WBC Bridgerweight title fight between Croatia’s Babic and Poland’s Lukasz Rozanski, posting $425,000 during a purse bid hearing held Tuesday afternoon in Mexico City. The Warsaw, Poland-headquartered company—who promotes Rozanski—outbid Matchroom Boxing ($325,000), Babic’s career-long promoter, during the session which took place during the WBC’s weekly ‘Martes de Cafe’ meeting. A firm date was not available as this goes to publication, though KO Promotions was adamant about providing Rozanski with a hometown title fight. Babic and Rozanski are entitled to $191,250 each from an even 50/50 split as the two highest ranked contenders. The remaining $42,500 will go the winner as a ten-percent win bonus held in escrow by the WBC.

The bridgerweight division is poised to crown a new king. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the WBC has ordered a vacant title fight between Croatia’s Alen Babic and Poland’s Lukasz Rozanski. The need for the fight arose when Oscar Rivas relinquished the title upon announcing his retirement due to a detached retina.

The annual WBC convention has once again managed to provide plenty of drama with its series of ordered fights in each weight division. Whether all, most or even some of those sanctioned bouts actually see the light of day is another story.

In no surprise, David Avanesyan has relinquished the EBU welterweight title due to his upcoming fight against WBO world champion Terence Crawford on December 10
