Swedish heavyweights Otto Wallin (19-0, 13 KOs) and Adrian Granat (15-1, 14 KOs) will meet in a grudge match for the European Union title on April 21 at the Gärdehov ice hockey arena in Sundsvall, Sweden. The 26 year-old fighters have been on a collision course since joining the professional ranks in 2013, and following years of speculation, now the time has come to see who is Sweden’s number one heavyweight.
Swedish heavyweight Adrian Granat (14-1) has parted ways with trainer and former WBO middleweight champ Armand Krajnc. As to why, well, Granat simply stated to Expressen "we didn´t get along". Who will take over isn´t clear yet. Granat is supposed to fight compatriot Otto Wallin for the vacant EU and Swedish heavyweight titles later in the year.
Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin (18-0, 12 KOs) is back in action on January 27 fighting on the undercard of the World Boxing Super Series semi-final between cruiserweight world champions Aleksandr Usyk and Mairis Briedis in Riga.
It´s official: Super middleweights Vincent Feigenbutz (27-2) and Ryno Liebenberg (18-5) are set to clash on February 17 in Ludwigsburg in Sauerland Event´s first promotion of the year. The show will be televised by Sport1 with former heavyweight Axel Schulz doing color commentary along with Tobias Drews. Sport1 viewers will also be treated to the Sauerland promotion in Arendal, Norway, the same night where cruiserweight Kai Robin Havnaa and heavyweight Albon Pervizaj headline.
At the end of 2017, EC Boxpromotion and Team Sauerland decided that it was time for their promising Swedish prospects Adrian Granat and Otto Wallin to finally collide in one of the biggest Swedish boxing fights in history. The fight will be for the vacant EU-title.
Adrian Granat knocked-out his opponent Irakli Gvenetadze this evening in his much anticipated comeback after his loss against Alexander Dimitrenko in March. Granat controlled the fight with his jab from the outset although Gvenetadze managed to land a few punches. In round 4, Granat landed his right uppercut and down went Gvenetadze and the fight was over (ref wisely stopped the fight).
The heavyweight clash between Alexander Dimitrenko and Miljan Rovcanin on Friday (Dec 22) in Hamburg is a non-title fight. This fight tops EC Boxing´s Christmas show and also feature the rematch between super lightweights Fatih Keles (9-0-1) and the always tough Frenchman Renald Garrido (19-16-2).
Adrian Granat, 13-1, 12 KOs, is finalizing his preparations this week as he takes on Irakli Gvenetadze on Friday in Hamburg at the Xmas Boxing event. Granat has had a long training camp with cancelled fights both in September and then in November. Now, however, it is finally time for his comeback. Granat has mainly trained in Ystad at Armand Krajnc's gym and in Malmö with Granat's new strength and conditioning coach Danny Cranmer. Granat also spent last week in Hamburg with great sparring and now confirms as follows regarding his shape;
IBF International heavyweight champion Alexander Dimitrenko (40-3) makes the first defence of the title that he won in March with a stunning upset win over Adrian Granat on December 22 in Hamburg. Opponent is to be announced. On the undercard Adrian Granat (14-1) returns to action after loss to Dimitrenko, with an eight-rounder against Georgian Irakli Gvenetadze.
Lightweights Howik Bebraham (11-0) and Fedor Papazov (20-2) will square off in an official IBO eliminator early next year. The winner will then face IBO champ Emmanuel Tagoe. Bebraham is promoted by Petko´s Box Promotion in Munich (Germany).
