Adrian Granados is confident that he can inflict a first loss on Conor Benn inside the distance and believes a victory can edge him towards a world title shot.

Granados faces rising, undefeated Welterweight contender, Benn at the first week of the second edition of Fight Camp on July 31 from the gardens of Matchroom HQ, live on DAZN.

The 31-year-old is the betting underdog heading into this clash, despite fighting at a higher level with points defeats to the likes of former world champions Shawn Porter and Adrien Broner, however the Illinois native believes he will have an answer for whatever the Brit brings.

“I’ve kind of only shown some of my tools and some of the tricks that I have,” Granados told proboxing-fans.com.

“I have a lot more than I think Conor Benn [has] and that’s why like I said he’s talking about whatever I bring he’s going to figure it out, I’ve got a lot of tools, I’m like a Swiss Army knife and that’s what I’m planning to show. Whatever he’s going to try to figure out, then I’m going to try and throw another curveball. I’ll do whatever I have to do, because I’m trying to win the fight.

“I understand what he’s trying to do. He’s going to dismantle me, whatever talking all that tough talk. He doesn’t know where I’ve come from and he doesn’t know what I’ve been through and that’s why I’m not worried about what he’s doing or what he’s saying either.

“Whatever Conor Benn wants to come with. If he wants to box, we can box. If he wants to bang, we can bang. I’ve been in there with some of the best and now it’s time for me to get a big win over one of the best, so that’s what I plan on doing and I’m excited. I was going through the motions, however the talking he’s doing is turning me up and I’m excited for a good fight now.”

Benn scored a statement victory last time out, knocking out Samuel Vargas inside the opening round, becoming the quickest person to stop the Canadian-Colombian.

Granados admits he was impressed with the 24-year-old’s performance, but believes he has far more in his arsenal than the 32-year-old.

“It was impressive,” he recalled of Benn’s win over Vargas.

“He jumped on him and he didn’t let his foot off the gas and that was great, that was a great statement for him, nobody has stopped Vargas like that and I know that he’s going to try to do the same with me, but I definitely think there’s a lot more tangibles that Vargas didn’t really possess. So I’m excited to see when this fight comes.”

Benn holds top 15 rankings in three of the four governing bodies and will make a fourth defence of his WBA Continental Welterweight crown on July 31.

‘The Destroyer’ has already anticipated a win within six rounds, however Granados, who is coming off a majority decision draw in May believes he can secure a stoppage victory and edge towards a world title shot.

“I want to be back in the top 10. There was one point in my career where I was ranked number three in the world and I had just beaten the number one fighter in the world and I never got a title shot," Granados said.

“I know we’re fighting for his Continental title so I’m looking to get some type of strap so I can get the real strap. I want a world title shot at least before my career is over and beating Conor Benn sets me up for that type of fight.

“I think this fight ends also by a stoppage, however an Adrian Granados stoppage. He doesn’t realize the type of dog he’s in there with, he doesn’t know the type of wars I’ve been through, the type of things I’ve been through in my life that have gotten me to this point.

“I understand the losses that I have, I understand they’ve got me as a gatekeeper, a journeyman. People don’t understand though I’ve actually been in there with the best and I’ve actually beaten a lot of the best, but I’ve just never got the nod.

“I’m looking like I said to get a big win and show to Eddie Hearn, show to the boxing world that guys I still have a lot of fight left in me. I keep hearing how much is left in Granados, I’m a young 31, I’m a young veteran as they say and I think it’s going to show, like I said let’s see how tough he is when the tables are turned.”
