Heavyweight contender Robert Helenius (30-3, 19 KOs) pulled off a shocker in March of 2020, when at Barclays Center he knocked out Adam Kownacki in the fourth round.

Four big heavyweight fights in one historic night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Three can’t-miss heavyweight showdowns have been added to the televised PPV undercard of the highly anticipated third fight between WBC and lineal heavyweight world champion Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury and former heavyweight world champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder.

The third battle between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder won’t be the only intriguing heavyweight fight to take place July 24 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. BoxingScene.com has learned that the rematch between Adam Kownacki and Robert Helenius is expected to be placed on the Fury-Wilder undercard. BoxingScene.com also has confirmed that representatives for unbeaten heavyweights Efe Ajagba and Frank Sanchez are close to finalizing a deal for them to square off as part of an ESPN/FOX Sports pay-per-view venture.

By Thomas Gerbasi - There really should have been a better storyline behind Jeison Rosario’s fifth-round stoppage of Julian Williams, a bout that earned Boxing Scene’s Upset of the Year award for 2020. Unlike other great upsets in the sport, Rosario’s win wasn’t a case of an undeserving fighter coming out of nowhere to defeat a dominant champion who...

BILD writes that a German mega fight between ex-world champs Felix Sturm and Juergen Braehmer is in the works and could, if the parties reach an agreement, take place in April with the "new" Universum as promoter.

Adam Kownacki will get his shot at redemption. BoxingScene.com has learned Kownacki and Robert Helenius have agreed in principle to a deal for a heavyweight rematch that’ll take place sometime early in 2021. Their contracts aren’t finalized, but Kownacki and Helenius have committed to a second fight FOX could televise as early as January.

Top fighters and trainers shared their thoughts and gave predictions on the two main events headlining the blockbuster CHARLO DOUBLEHEADER this Saturday, September 26, live on SHOWTIME PPV (7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT) from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.

Adam Kownacki doesn’t dodge any questions about the first loss of his professional boxing career. In fact, he answers them before you even get a chance to ask. And though the 31-year-old could talk about maybe getting a quick hook from referee David Fields in his March 7 headliner against Robert Helenius, overlooking his underdog opponent, being overwhelmed by the media and fan obligations that went along with being the main event in his hometown of Brooklyn, or even being less than focused because he and his wife had just welcomed a son into the world a few months earlier, he doesn’t do any of that. In fact, there are no excuses at all.

Charles Martin likes and respects Adam Kownacki. The former IBF heavyweight champion hopes Kownacki can come back and thrive after suffering a fourth-round, technical-knockout loss to Robert Helenius two months ago. After what Martin witnessed from a ringside seat March 7, he simply isn’t sure that’ll be possible for a previously undefeated fighter who has beaten him.

With all of the relevant heavyweight hardware committed to rematches and mandatory defenses, there stands little chance of anyone outside of that scope landing a title shot anytime soon. In a way, that’s good news for Adam Kownacki even if his current year hasn’t gone according to plan.
