According to world class trainer Abel Sanchez, cruiserweight contender Murat Gassiev (23-0 17 KOs) will be the next knockout artist turned star in the sport of boxing.
Sanchez's deep stable of fighters is lead by WBA/IBF/IBO/WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin who has stopped his previous 23 opponents inside of the distance.
"In my opinion - I said this a year ago - this is the next Golovkin out of my gym. This is the next sensation out of my gym. He's dramatic like Golovkin. He makes things happen like Golovkin. He loves to fight," Sanchez explained.
Sanchez said that there are a lot of similarities between both fighters but that Gassiev really wants to inflict damage on his opponents while Golovkin sometimes feels compassion for his rivals.
"The difference between this guy and Golovkin is this guy wants to hurt you. Golovkin is a nice man who can really really fight. He has a lot of experience so he kind of takes it easy on guys and cruises through fights and doesn't really hit anybody. I don't think I've seen Golovkin hit anybody 100% yet.
"This Gassiev is a mean, mean guy. He wants to hurt you inside the ring. Outside the ring he is like Golovkin. He is jovial and joking, a 23-year-old kid. Inside the ring for some reason they change. I think he got that from Golovkin - watching the transformation once he steps through the ropes," Sanchez old BoxingScene.com.
