Glyn Rhodes has the likes of Curtis Woodhouse and the talented Mr. John Fewkes, training at his Sheffield Boxing Centre; however, the veteran coach believes that his “Steel City” talent pool runs even deeper, as evidenced by Sam 'Speedy' Sheedy's run of four straight wins.

“Nobody else like Curtis Woodhouse or John Fewkes can say that [they are undefeated] at our gym,” joked Rhodes when talking to the South Yorkshire Star about his southpaw light-middleweight prospect, 4-0 (1).

He added: “Sam is only a baby at 22 but the time is coming where he might just step up and come out of everybody else's shadows here.  I believe that all he needs is some experience and exposure and he might get on his way to a title or two.”

Woodhouse recently lost to Peter McDonagh, Curtis's second defeat in 16 fights, he is working under Rhodes ahead of his next contest.  Fewkes looked promising early in his career only to lose badly to Martin Gethin in 2008; he has talent to burn and, if focussed and committed to his craft, is always a welcome sight.
