According to a report in Golzka, there are continued discussions to make a fight between WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and WBA champion David Haye. The IBF set a deadline to end negotiations on May 17. As of Monday the 30-day period of negotiations have begun for Klitschko to defend his title against mandatory Alexander Povetkin.

The IBF told the paper that Klitschko and Povetkin have 30-days to make a deal before a purse bid is ordered. Haye's trainer/manager Adam Booth recently revealed in the paper their desire to wait until the outcome of the Vitali Klitschko-Albert Sosnowki fight [on May 29] before making a deal with anyone.

The report notes the two sides are still hoping some type of deal can be reached. Something would have to be worked out with Klitschko's mandatory Povetkin. That should not be a major problem because Povetkin is promoted under the same company as Haye, Sauerland Event.
