IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is looking to apply pressure on Deontay Wilder, the WBC champion, to meet him in the ring for a five belt unification clash in 2020.

Joshua "technically" had his first unification bout in 2017, when he was 18-0, and stopped Wladimir Klitschko to unify the WBA, IBF, IBO belts. Klitschko was not the champion, but the WBA and IBO sanctioned the bout for their vacant belts. The following year, at 20-0, he unified further by decisioning Joseph Parker for the WBO title.

Wilder (42-0-1) is set to defend his title against Tyson Fury on February 22nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Joshua is targeting the winner of that contest. A fight against Wilder would be a sensation on both side of the Atlantic. A fight with Fury is more geared for a huge stadium in the UK.

Should Wilder win, Joshua wants them to collide at some point in the year. Joshua has to mandatory defense next.

"We've done it, we've unified it, in the space of 20 odd fights. He's had 40 odd fights. How come he hasn't managed to unify the division yet? If he's looking for it, we're the ones to do it with, and we're not hard to find. We've got a great team behind us, so reach out. Even though there are two at the minute, I'll let the people decide who they think is the real heavyweight champion right now," Joshua told Sky Sports.

"I always say, we're in the same division, the same era, that fight has to happen. We just put on an amazing event. We're going to do another amazing event god willing in the new year. He can come and be part of history. We're trying to achieve big things in boxing and to add Wilder to my list would be an honour."
