According to Cleveland.com, a lawsuit was filed Tuesday that accuses former four division world champion boxer Adrien Broner of sexually assaulting a woman at a downtown Cleveland nightclub in June 2018.

The case is connected to a prior criminal case, when it was claimed that Broner approached this woman at the Park Social Club in June 2018 and allegedly forced himself on top of her and shoved his tongue down her throat.

Broner is currently serving probation after he pleaded guilty in April to assault and unlawful restraint charges related to the incident.

The 35-year-old woman claims Broner approached her while she was sitting on a couch in the VIP area, and then forced himself on her. She claims she was trapped Broner’s body weight, and he forcibly kissed her.

She claims that someone snapped a photo with a cell phone - which led to a unnamed man stepping in and pulling Broner off of her.

The woman and her friend reported the incident to police later that night, and Broner was later indicted on felony charges of gross sexual imposition and abduction.

The charges came down when Broner was preparing to face Manny Pacquiao back in January.

The woman’s lawyer, Ashley Case Sletvold, took a shot at Broner in her press release to announce the lawsuit.

“While we may never know why Mr. Broner decided to walk up to perfect stranger and attack her, we do know he did a better job of keeping his hands to himself during the Pacquiao fight than he did at Park Social," Sletvold said in the release.

“Women have a right to exist in public spaces without being manhandled. The brave women who take a stand against this type of abuse are helping to bring about a world in which everyone’s bodily integrity is respected.”

Broner’s criminal lawyer, Ian Friedman, vowed to defend his client in the case.

“This type of baseless claim is not surprising," Friedman said in an emailed statement. “Unfortunately, some people will target profile or wealthy public figures in the hope of getting an easy payday.”
