UFC President Dana White has responded to the recent "fight" challenge from Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya.

The war of words has been brewing for well over a year.

Their rivalry heated up in the last few weeks, after De La Hoya staged the first Golden Boy MMA pay-per-view event - which was headlined by a trilogy bout between UFC Hall of Famers Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz.

De La Hoya intends to continue his run in MMA - because he feels White and the UFC are not properly paying MMA fighters.

In a recent interview, the Golden Boy upped the ante - challenging White to settle things in the ring. He even took a jab at White for allegedly using steroids.

“Let’s get in the ring,” De La Hoya stated on “The Luke Thomas Show” on SiriusXM (via MMAjunkie).

“Three rounds. Let’s do this. Let’s do this on the Canelo (Alvarez undercard), Cinco de Mayo. I’ll even give you five months so you can get off the juice and then we can get in great shape, and then we go three rounds. Look, I’m going to give you, what, a 50-pound advantage? It’s OK. I can take you on. Let’s do it.”

White reacted back, while at the same time taking another stab at De La Hoya for bring back the 48-year-old Liddell out of retirement to fight again. Liddell had been inactive since 2010.

“I just heard him say on TMZ that he would kick my ass in the ring,” White said about De La Hoya. “Makes sense — this guy likes to see 50-year olds fight. So it makes sense that’s the fight that he would want to do.”
