Adonis Stevenson’s fiancée, Simone God, his camp members and loved ones are supporting the hospitalized 41-year-old former world champion, who remained in intensive care on Sunday after being knocked out in the 11th round on Saturday night by Oleksandr Gvozdyk in their light heavyweight championship bout in Quebec City.

According to the Montreal Journal, Stevenson has been placed in a medically induced coma as a precuationary measure and to reduce any swelling from a brain hemorrhage that he suffered from the knockout.

"I don't want to comment to much on it, but 'm at the hospital, trying to be next to him and to support him. He's a champion, he's a fighter, he's going to fight this," said Simone God, who is engaged to Stevenson, gave birth to their daughter, Adonia, on November 6, and also works for him.

"We're partners in life and we're partners in business. He's resting right now, showing good signs, and we're hoping for the best. I have faith that he's going to be okay. We have good people here, we have support, and we're trying to keep it together for Adonis and to stay strong for our baby, Adonia. Adonis loves her very much, so he's going to fight for her. We're asking that everyone respect our privacy and that you keep us in your prayers. So we've got this."

Stevenson (29-2-1, 24 KOs) was dethroned by Gvozdyk (16-0, 13 KOs) as WBC 175-pound champion, ending, “Superman’s” nearly 5 ½ year run as boxing’s oldest and longest reigning titlehiolder.

Stevenson had gone 16-0-1 with 14 KOs since his lone loss by second-round stoppage to Darnell Boone in April 2010 that he avenged by sixth-round KO in March 2013. Stevenson entered at 9-0-1 with seven KOs in championship bouts, including his title-winning 76-second stoppage of Chad Dawson in June 2013.

"News on the condition of Adonis. The family of Adonis and Yvon Michel are currently with Adonis Stevenson,” Stevenson’s promoter, Yvon Michel, wrote on his official Twitter account early Sunday morning.

"They want to inform friends and supporters that Adonis is currently in critical condition in intensive care, at the hospital, following his fight against Oleksander Gvozdyk. They appreciate the concern and support of everyone. There will be no further comments at this time and they respectfully request your understanding in their desire to stay private."
