The man regarded as the greatest Mexican boxer of all-time, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., believes there is a high possibility that fans could see a knockout ending in the upcoming rematch between WBC, WBA, IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin and Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Their second fight is all set for September 15th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. HBO Pay-Per-View is carrying the fight.

The first bout, which happened in September of 2017, ended in a controversial twelve round split draw.

Because of the scorecards in the first meeting, both boxers have promised to end their second fight in a knockout - in order to avoid any possibility of the contest reaching the judges.

Chavez Sr. - who views the contest as being very close - says a knockout ending is very possible.

"I think it's a very close fight where the knockout will be around during every second, every minute - but I think if Canelo focuses well and makes a very smart fight, if he has more frequency of punches, he can take the victory; but, logically, throughout the fight it will be very dangerous," said Chavez Sr. to ESPN Deportes.

"It's a complicated fight for both of them, I think the two of them know each other quite well, it will be the same as the first. We hope that the Mexican will come out with his hand up,

Regarding the ring return of his son, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., he said he does not know who the exact opponent will be or where the return will take place - but he does knows that it will be in the super middleweight limit in November.

"He was going to fight in September, but at 170 pounds and we did not agree. He will return at 168 pounds around November, since he is well prepared, focused and mentally ready," Chavez Sr. said.
