WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) has come under fire for making several controversial comments during a recent interview with The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 FM.

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, the undefeated puncher stated during the interview that he was not concerned if he took his opponent’s life in the ring.

“I come here for one thing — to knock you out and go back home," Wilder said to hosts Charlamagne Tha God & Angela Yee.

And then later in the interview, Wilder took things a step further and actually stated that he wanted to kill someone in the ring - or at least his ring persona, 'Bronze Bomber,' was looking to catch a body.

“I want a body on my record, I want one,” Wilder said to the show.

“That’s the Bronze Bomber, he want [a body]. I always tell people, when I’m in the ring, like I am the Bronze Bomber. With him, it’s so crazy, when I’m in the Bronze Bomber, I don’t really care. Everything about me changes. I don’t get nervous, I don’t get scared, I don’t get butterflies, I don’t have no feeling towards the man I’m fit to fight."

And Wilder also stated that he wouldn't be surprised if someone ends up getting killed during one of his fights.

“The power that I have, it’s easy to be able to do,” Wilder said. “I thought I had one one time with [Artur] Szpilka because he wasn’t breathing when he hit the canvas. Somebody is going to go.”

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman has been made aware of the comments and he indicates that his organization's disciplinary committee will investigate the statements. What type of punishment Wilder would face is unknown.

"This is a serious report which cannot go unattended and if true goes against the WBC code of ethics. I have known Deontay Wilder for a long time, I respect him and do not believe he could say that he wants to kill someone in the ring. It’s not acceptable and the WBC disciplinary committee will look into this delicate matter," Sulaiman stated on social media.

Former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew was one of the many fighters who was shocked at Wilder's comments.

"If this is true, he's a disgrace!" Bellew wrote on Twitter. "A lot of fighters have a family they're providing for so does this mean he wants to kill the father of a child? Senseless idiot!"
