Sam Eggington and Frankie Gavin pull no punches in Matchroom Boxing’s exclusive extended promo video for their clash for the British and Commonwealth titles on Saturday October 17 at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham, live on Sky Sports.

Eggington puts his belts on the line in this all-Birmingham affair and Gavin is looking to regain the straps he held previously – but with bragging rights and the chance to land big fights in the lucrative 147lb division added to the mix, this is a must-win clash for both men.

Gavin believes that his experience and boxing skill will be the key on the night: “There are levels between me and Sam, maybe he can punch harder than me, but he gets hit a lot more than me, he’s not as clever as me, not as fast as me and I don't think he'll be as fit as me.”

Eggington though says that Gavin’s losses in his World title clash with Kell Brook and European title bout against Leonard Bundu show that they are at the same level: “He didn't beat Brook, he didn't beat Bundu – he cleared up at British level, you have to give him that – but he went up to European level and didn't win. I honestly think I stop him late on.”

Eggington’s defence against Gavin is part of a huge night of action in the second city with another local derby as former World Middleweight title challenger Matthew Macklin moves down to Super Welterweight to take on Jason Welborn for the vacant WBC International title.

Unbeaten Super Flyweight star Kal Yafai faces Jason Cunningham for the vacant British title and Kal’s younger brother Gamal is also in action looking to extend his own unbeaten record in his eighth pro outing.

The Midlands Area title is on the line between Middleweights Craig Cunningham and Lennox Clarke and Welterweights Rob Hunt and Karl Wiggins, and unbeaten local talents Cori Gibbs, Zach Parker, Dan Breeze, Michael Rooney and Jordan Cooke all taste action.
