Andre Berto says there is no tension with his stablemate, Amir Khan, over Floyd Mayweather's announcement last week.

Khan has been chasing after Mayweather for the last two years. He was confident of landing a fall shot at the pound-for-pound king on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The unexpected happened when Mayweather revealed Berto's name as the official Showtime Pay-Per-View opponent.

Berto and Khan train out of the same Bay Area gym with their mutual coach Virgil Hunter. Both of them are also advised by Al Haymon [and so is Mayweather].

Khan was very disappointed by Mayweather's decision, but wished Berto luck in the fight.

"I didn't have a conversation with him once it got announced. Me and him, we spoke a little bit before that though. We spoke, and me and him knew that we were in the running for it. We had a real cool conversation and we just wished each other luck...whoever gets it, good luck to him," Berto told BoxingScene.com.

"I'm not going to talk bad about Amir, but if it's me or him it's going to be an entertaining fight. Like I said, both of us are young, we're fast, we're explosive and we bring a lot to the table when it comes down to it."
