Diego Magdaleno will fight Hevinson Herrera in a 10 round lightweight bout on November 8, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman told Boxingscene.com on Saturday.

The bout will headline a Top Rank card at the Events Center in Pharr, Texas. UniMas will televise the "Solo Boxeo Tecate" broadcast.

In his last bout on May 17, Magdaleno (26-1, 10 KOs) won a one-sided eight round unanimous decision over Oscar Bravo in Inglewoo, Cailf. It was his third win in a row since suffering his only defeat at the hands of Roman "Rocky" Martinez in April of last year.

There was talk earlier this year Magdaleno would face interim WBA World super featherweight title holder Bryan Vasquez this fall, but the fight fell through.

Magdaleno, who is managed by Frank Espinoza, resides in Las Vegas and trains in Indio, Calif. with Joel Diaz.

After a 28-month hiatus, Herrera (17-9-1, 11 KOs) returned to the ring on July 19, stopping Miguel Romero in the second round. In his last bout on August 29, the Colombian-born fighter won a six round unanimous decision over Edinson Jimenez.

In 74 pro fights, Romero and Jimenez have a combined five victories between them.
