Main Events CEO Kathy Duva is very interested in matching her fighter, WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (23-0-1, 21KOs), against WBC champion Adonis  Stevenson. Stevenson has expressed some reluctance in accepting the fight, saying that Kovalev should build up his name a bit more before the showdown  takes place.

Duva recently spoke to BoxingScene.com and said that if a Stevenson fight can't be made, that they would be willing to face any of the top contenders in the division.

"We would fight anybody in the top ten.  It doesn't really matter who it is because they are all going out the same way.

"There are people who will come along and want to fight him. There is (Denis) Grachev who beat Sillakh.  That could be a possibility. There's Andrzej Fonfara who just scored a big win in Chicago. Isaac Chilemba who we just signed.  After he gets a few big wins he would be ready. There's Lionel Thompson. He took that fight on short notice when he lost by KO in 2012," Duva stated.

Kovalev is no stranger to fighting on the road. Before his November knockout of  Ismayl Sillakh in Canada, he travelled to Wales in August when he stopped Nathan  Cleverly to capture his first world title.

Duva feels that her fighter has the necessary style to become a crossover star and envisions him eventually fighting in the boxing capital of the world.

"I believe that Kovalev is appealing to everyone. I think he transcends the sport. I think its inevitable that he fights in Vegas," Duva told BoxingScene.com.
