Last week, GYM confirmed that World Boxing Council (WBC) will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Saturday, September 28.  Fighting on the HBO card co-main event will be George “Honey Boy” Blades from Indianapolis, IN.  Blades will be fighting Former WBC light heavyweight world champion Jean Pascal. Jean Pascal (22-2-1, 16 KOs), against George "Honey Boy" Blades (24-4 17 KOs).

The Blades’ camp knows that everyone is looking at this as being a walk in the park.  But on Saturday, September 28th in Montreal George “Honey Boy” Blades will show the world why they picked the wrong opponent for Pascal this day.  Blades predicts he will win in Canada.

Gerald Reed, out of Georgetown, KY is Blades trainer.  Reed has been training boxers for 35 years.  He also fought in the 140lb, 147lb and 154lb weight classes.  Reed feels Blades will be victorious because not only is Blades one of the best kept secrets, so is he.  Reed states, “He will be coming out like Cinderella man – watch the movie.”

The world will see that Blades is in the best physical condition of his life.  He has been boxing for 25 years and has been all over the world.  He has been scheduled to fight some of the best fighters in the world and for some reason a week before the fight they mysteriously get cancelled for one reason or another.   While some are looking at Blades as a washed up fighter this is far from the truth.  When he isn’t fighting he is in the gym.  “When a man has nothing to lose and everything to gain what can stand in his way,” says Blades.

Blades, 39 years-old has been boxing professionally since 1999. From 1999 to present, he won 24 of his first 28 pro fights to become a world contender. In June 2007, he got a world championship opportunity against World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion Zsolt Erdei (26-0-0), referee mysteriously stopped the fight in the 11th round with Blades ahead on 2 of the judges score card in Hungary.
