Super bantamweights Christopher Martin and Efrain Esquivias will fight in separate eight bouts on June 28th, Thompson Boxing Promotions matchmaker Alex Camponovo notified Boxingscene.com Tuesday afternoon.

The bouts will headline a “Path to Glory” card and will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA.

Martin will take on Raul Hidalgo, while Esquivias will fight Victor Sanchez.

Martin (26-2-3, 8 KOs) is coming off a hard-fought eight round unanimous decision over Jose Angel Beranza on February 22nd. The victory avenged a loss Martin suffered to Beranza back in 2011.

The fighter from San Diego has won his last three bouts in a row since a one-sided loss to Luis Orlando Del Valle last April.

The hard-hitting Hidalgo (17-8, 16 KOs), from Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, is coming off a fourth round knockout over Ivan Chavelas on June 8th.

Prior to his victory over Chavelas, Hidalgo lost a close eight round unanimous decision to Ivan Morales, the younger brother of former world champion Erik Morales.

In his last six victories, Hidalgo has scored knockouts in those fights.

Esquivias (16-2, 9 KOs), from Carson, CA, has lost his last two bouts, but to solid opposition. Esquivias lost a close eight round majority decision to Rico Ramos on June 23rd and most recently in September, to Jonathan Romero.

Esquivias’ last victory was a one-sided unanimous decision over Adolfo Landeros on February 24th of last year.

Ironically, Sanchez’s last fight was also at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario. Sanchez (5-6-1, 2 KOs) was in an all-out war with Richard Contreras for six rounds before earning the technical knockout victory when Contreras did not come out for the seventh round because of an injury.

Also on the card will be super bantamweight Juan Reyes (9-1-1, 1 KO) of Riverside, CA in a scheduled six round bout.

Tickets ($100 and $40) are on sale and could be purchased at thompsonboxing.com or by calling (714) 935-0900.
