Former champion Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs) is planning to make his move to the welterweight division on December 7th in the United States. Khan is going to be ringside at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City when Devon Alexander defends his IBF welterweight title against Lee Purdy. Khan's younger brother, Haroon, is fighting on the undercard.

“I’m going to have a nice little break now with Ramadan coming up, but once I’ve done all that I’m looking at December 7 – and you’re the first to know that!. It’ll be a step up to 147-pounds and – hopefully – it’ll be for a world title,” Khan told The Bolton News.
