Former three division world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley (46-8-1, 39 KOs), 41-years-old, is looking to turn back the clock on May 18th in Cancun, when he faces 23-year-old Pablo Cesar Cano (26-2-1, 20 KOs) in a welterweight contest. Mosley has not won a fight since 2009, when he stopped Antonio Margarito. Since that time Mosley has gone 0-3-1 in  his last four. He lost decisions to Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul Alvarez. There was a draw with Sergio Mora in 2010.

Mosley retired after last May's defeat to Alvarez, but started making plans for one final run earlier this year. Mosley says this is not a one-fight return, he is planning to stick around for a long time. But a loss to Cano would be the final nail in the coffin of a hall-of-fame career.

"This is a long-term return, I'm coming for a title. I want to be champion again. I want to make history. After Cano I want one more fight and then look for a world championship. I see this fight as a new beginning for me. I have my father back [as trainer]. I guarantee you will be the same Sugar Shane Mosley [of old]. Pablo Cano is very strong, he likes to fight and that's the most important thing. I think the fight will be very good because of the styles and we also have very good chins," Mosley said.
