Kompayak Porpramook was grateful for hometown advantage in his first major title shot last year. Adrian Hernandez traveled halfway around the world from Mexico to Thailand, only to return home without his 108 lb title after Porpramook stopped him in the 10th round of their non-stop thriller.

The thick-muscled Thai brawler returns the favor this weekend, facing Hernandez in Mexico for the second defense of his title. The belief from the Hernandez camp is that a home win is imminent and that it will also lead to a potential trilogy between the two action fighters.

Porpramook has different plans in mind.

"I will knockout Hernandez - like I did in the first fight to take the belt – while I am in his home,” Porpramook boldly stated during fight week in Toluca, Mexico. "I'm gonna knock and so there will be no third fight because I'm the best (at 108 lb)."

Porpramook (46-3, 31KO) has made just one defense of the title thus far, a technical decision win over Jonathan Taconing. The bout was stopped after five rounds when headbutts in consecutive round left Porpramook bloodied and unable to continue.

The rematch with Hernandez (24-2-1, 15KO) – who has won two straight following last year’s heartbreaker – marks Porpramook’s second trip outside of Asia. His lone other fight on the road resulted in his last loss, a 4th round stoppage at the hands of Hussein Hussein in Australia way back in May ’06.

Six years and 24 wins later, Porpramook feels up for a road trip. The Thai fighter arrived a week early in Mexico to properly acclimate himself to the surroundings. The extended stay away from him left more anxious to “return home to Thailand with the world championship, repeating my triumph over the Mexican (contender).”

The bout will air live on TV Azteca in Mexico and the United States.
