IBO/WBA "regular" middleweight champion Gennady "Triple G" Golovkin (24-0, 21KOs) has set his sights on the winner of the upcoming middleweight showdown between WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and former two-division king Sergio Martinez, taking place on September 15th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

"I want [the winner of that fight]. I'm ready. I think Sergio is a much better boxer. Julio is strong, he's bigger. He's a good boxer too. I think it's a 50-50 [fight], but that's boxing. I want Martinez. I want Julio," Golovkin told BoxingScene.com.

Golovkin's trainer, Abel Sanchez, told BoxingScene he believes HBO is now very much on board to match Golovkin against the big names at 160 - like Chavez and Martinez - although Sanchez feels their chances of getting a fight with Martinez are much stronger.

"HBO is on board. HBO watched him fight. They are going to be interested in making a big fight with him," Sanchez said. "I think that [Martinez and Chavez] have to fight him. They have been calling everyone out but they haven't called Golovkin out. They can't say he's not known in the United States. He's known now."

"I think we have a better chance of getting Martinez in the ring because I don't think [Top Rank CEO] Bob Arum will put Chavez in the ring with Gennady."

K2 Promotions is looking to bring Golovkin back to HBO in December.
