Brazilian boxer Claudinei Lacerda (14-2, 10 KOs) has promised to destroy the big-time plans of former champion Humberto Soto (57-7-2-1, 34KOs). Soto is scheduled to face Argentine junior welterweight slugger Lucas Matthysse (30-2-1, 28KOs) on the 23rd of June, and in order to stay active he booked a quick tuneup bout against Lacerda for this coming Saturday in Cancun, Mexico. Televisa will broadcast the fight.

“It is an honor for me to face a great opponent like Humberto Soto. I have a lot of respect for him, for being one of the best fighters in Mexico, but inside the ring I’ll show him none. It will be a war,” said Lacerda.

“I’ve trained so hard. I will not return to my country with empty hands. I know that if I beat Soto, people will remember me and I’ll be in line to fight for the world title. Don’t be surprised if I defeat Soto."
