Legendary promoter Frank Maloney is of the opinion that British heavyweight rivals David Haye and Dereck Chisora should avoid any kind of meeting in the professional ring.

Maloney, who guided Lennox Lewis to the undisputed world title in the mid 90’s, says that any attempt to make a fight between the pair would represent a freak show and bring British boxing further into the gutter.

Maloney is still not happy with the violent brawl between the two boxers, which took place last month at the post-fight press conference for Chisora's bout with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko.

“It's not a big fight, anyone could see that the way they behaved, It is not a recipe to make a good world title fight," Maloney told Sky Sports.

"They should wait for the outcome of David Price versus Sam Sexton, which is a proper fight,  before they try and jump the queue to a world title.”

Olympian Price, who is approaching his 29th birthday in the summer, is widely touted as the Klitschko brothers’ best challenger and may well be best swayed to avoid any contact with either of the Munich brawlers.
