During Wednesday's press conference at LA Live in Los Angeles, there was a face to face verbal exchange between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz. Some pretty harsh words were voiced by Ortiz when he addressed the media and the thousands of fans who attended. Mayweather was pretty calm and soft spoken, but he started throwing a few verbal jabs when he came face to face with Ortiz. The Mexican champion had to compose himself and was very close to throwing a pre-fight punch.

"I was going to smack him," Ortiz said to the LA Times. "I was going to lay him out. He said, 'You don't get this, son,' and I said, 'No, no. I'm the world champ. You don't have a chance.'"

Mayweather-Ortiz takes place on September 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
