Junior welterweight Marcos Rene Maidana (29-2, 27KOs) is ready for a war. He face Mexican icon Erik Morales (51-6, 35KOs) on Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Maidana takes nothing away from Morales, even though experts believe Morales is a shell of his former self. Maidana is training to go the full distance. Although, the puncher from Argentina doesn't expect a long fight because of their fighting styles.

"It will be a war. And I'm prepared for the twelve rounds, but I think it will be a short fight. Will I take precautions? No. I'm going out to fight. My style is to go forward, and that's how it has to be; if you do not throw punches, you do not win," Maidana said.

"He's an experienced fighter and he knows what he is doing. He made a decision to fight me, so he must feel good about his chances. This is his chance. If he wins, he's back again, and if he loses, then he will likely retire.  I'm stronger and younger. He can throw more punches than me, but now he's slower. He slowed down [over the years.]"
