After the fight Ward spoke to the media about a variety of topics.  One of the topics was the September 28th showdown pitting IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence against the WBC champion Shawn Porter in Los Angeles.

Spence is a 9-1 betting favorite but Ward believes that those odds are too wide. He understands why Spence is the favorite but believes that Porter is being underestimated.

"It is going to be a tough fight for both guys. A lot of people are leaning towards Spence and I understand why. It is going to be a tough fight. I am not going to say it's a 50-50 fight. It's probably a 60-40 fight in favor of Spence but Shawn Porter can have a night," said Ward.

"On any given night he can have a night. It is not a fight where you can point to a winner without having doubts in your mind. I am going to sit back and watch it as a fan. I am not trying to choose either way. I love both guys. I am friends with both guys. I am a fan of both guys so I am going to sit back and watch it. It is going to be a good fight and a tough fight."

In the co-feature bout, WBC super middleweight champion Anthony Dirrell takes on unbeaten former champion David Benavidez.  The pay-per-view cards is rounded out with Mario Barrios going up against Batyr Akhmedov and Josesito Lopez colliding with John Molina Jr. in a welterweight battle.
