Manny Pacquiao and his handlers are hitting out at the constant reports which claims his upcoming fight with WBA "regular" welterweight titlist Lucas Matthysse is in jeopardy of being canceled.

Pacquiao, who is promoting the event under his own company MP Promotions, will go on as planned on July 14 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

BoxingScene.com first reported issues with the event back on May 18th, after numerous overseas sources were claiming the card was dealing with financial problems.

Those reports have continued to pour out, as there are claims that Pacquiao's company has missed several financial deadlines - including the placement of Matthysse's purse into escrow.

An initial payment of $500,000 was made to Matthysse and his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions. There is reportedly a shortage of $2 million in financing.

Pacquiao’s adviser, Michael Koncz, feels confident that everything will pushing forward.

“Our fight will push through as I spoke to Manny an hour ago,” Koncz told The Philippine Star. “When the fight happens, all these doubters can eat their words."

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who is handling the U.S. television rights, is already discussing an alternative plan of securing Matthysse for WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford.

The eight division world champion, 40-years-old, says the contest will proceed as planned.

According to Pacquiao, there is nothing that can stop the event from moving forward as planned.

“Nothing can stop that,” Pacquiao said. “As long as I can provide jobs to those who work for MP Promotions and give decent and appropriate pay to boxers fighting in the undercard, I will be very happy.

“That’s what I believe in business with morality. Self-fulfillment and helping others are more important to me than money. The fight will proceed as scheduled. I am training hard for the fight and I never allow any distraction to destroy my focus."
