San Juan, PR - During Friday afternoon, the last pre-weigh-in was held for the upcoming card 'Noche de Campeones DIRECTV: Live or Die' - which is taking place on Saturday, March 3 at Mario 'Quijote' Coliseum Morales of Guaynabo.

In the main event, the world contender Jayson 'La Maravilla' Velez (24-5-1, 17KO's) will face the former two division world champion Juan Manuel 'Juanma' Lopez (35-5, 32KO's) in a duel taking place over twelve rounds for the International super featherweight (130 pounds) title of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

Velez stepped the scale at 136.2 pounds and Juanma did the same at 133.4 pounds. The maximum weight allowed seven days before the fight is 5% (136.5 pounds) over the limit of the super featherweight division. The pre-weighin was held as part of the radio show program 'La Garata' by La Mega.

Meanwhile, in the co-featured bout, Alberto 'Transformer' Mercado (13-1-1, 3KO's) will risk his WBC Fecarbox super featherweight belt against the former world contender, José 'Miau' Nieves (22-3-3, 11KO's) in a fight agreed to for the eight round distance.

Mercado and Nieves scored the same weight of 135.6 pounds, meeting the maximum allowed of 136.5 pounds. The pre-weighin took place at the Professional Boxing Commission of Puerto Rico.
