The Nevada State Athletic Commission announced the referee and judges for the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Conor McGregor fight during its meeting Wednesday in Las Vegas.

The NSAC has assigned veteran referee Robert Byrd to officiate their 12-round, 154-pound boxing match August 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The commission also announced it has chosen Reno, Nevada’s Burt Clements, Las Vegas’ Dave Moretti and Italy’s Guido Cavalleri as the judges for their Showtime Pay-Per-View main event.

Byrd has been the referee for only one of Mayweather’s first 49 fights, his unanimous-decision victory over Robert Guerrero in May 2013. The NSAC’s choice of referee is considered particularly important for this bout because McGregor, a UFC superstar who’ll make his pro boxing debut, is expected to make this fight as rough and physical as possible in an attempt to negate Mayweather’s significant advantages as a boxer.

The NSAC’s assignment of Cavalleri met McGregor’s request for at least one international judge to work their fight. Only three non-American judges have been among the 42 who have scored Mayweather’s 14 straight fights in Las Vegas, which dates back to his 12-round, unanimous-decision defeat of Zab Judah in April 2006.

Cavalleri is one of those judges. He scored Mayweather’s rematch against Marcos Maidana by the score of 115-112 for Mayweather in September 2014.

The two other international judges who’ve worked Mayweather fights in Las Vegas over the past 11 years are England’s John Keane and Canada’s Craig Metcalfe.

Keane scored Mayweather an easy winner over Carlos Baldomir (120-108) in November 2006. Metcalfe credited Mayweather with a 117-111 win against Canelo Alvarez in September 2014, when Mayweather was forced to settle for a majority decision victory because besmirched judge C.J. Ross somehow scored their one-sided, 12-round fight even (114-114).

Moretti has judged 10 of Mayweather’s past 14 fights. Clements has worked four of Mayweather’s past 14 bouts.
