50 Cent Erupts, Rips Apart Ungrateful "Sh*thead" Billy Dib

By Edward Chaykovsky

As BoxingScene.com previously reported, former featherweight world champion Billy Dib told the local press in Australia that he was relieved that he no longer has any promotional ties to rapper Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson.

Dib signed a three year promotional contract with 50 Cent in 2012. At the time, 50 Cent started a boxing promotional company called SMS Promotions and the company was going to be a partnership with best friend Floyd Mayweather Jr. That partnership fell apart when 50 Cent and Mayweather began a public feud that last for two years.

50 Cent's company went into bankruptcy in 2015 and fighters have been attempting to bail with lawsuits. Yuriorkis Gamboa, Ryan Martin and James Kirkland are all trying to break their contracts, while others like Andre Dirrell were able to get away.

Dib claims he was only paid a fraction of the purses that where promised in the promotional contract. The boxer is reportedly owed over seven figures, but he likely won't see a penny of that money with SMS Promotions' bankruptcy.

“We have no promotional ties, and thank God I’ve finally gotten away from 50 Cent,” Dib told The Daily Telegraph. “A lot of people would say ‘Why do you want to get away from 50 Cent, that would be amazing’, but it’s not amazing, it was very disheartening, sleepless nights, you wake up for phone calls and the guy would never answer his phone, it was possibly the worst career move that I’ve made in my life. But everything happens for a reason, that was what was written for me at the time, and it’s on to the next.”

“My career was skyrocketing, things were going amazing, and then unfortunately - and when I say unfortunately I really do mean unfortunately — I signed for 50 Cent, who basically knew nothing about the sport of boxing. And I really believe that it’s from that point, because when you get promised something and it’s not delivered, that disheartens you a little bit. And that’s what was happening to me, I was being promised certain things and I was only being delivered a quarter of what was promised.

“So that became very disheartening, and then you find that you’re fighting for money and you’re fighting for the love of the sport anymore, and that’s what happened to me. All cared about was fighting for world titles and defending them, it was for the love of the sport, it wasn’t about money, the money was going to follow. I became turned off the sport, I wasn’t working as hard anymore.”

50 Cent took to the social networks to defend himself and fired back at Dib.

"The truth is Billy Dib is an ungrateful fighter who was deemed unwatchable by premium networks like Showtime and HBO when I met him. Floyd was mad at me for signing him in the first place. With a record of 35-1 (21 KOs), Dib must have fought 21 cab drivers in Australia because Evgeny Gradovich with a record of 15-0 (8 KOs) beat the sh*t out of him, despite taking the fight on a month's notice," 50 Cent stated.

"It's no secret that the level of competition and talent, fighting in America is the highest. The best fighters in the world come here to fight. 8 Months later, I put Dib on the Manny Pacquiao undercard for the rematch with Gradovich. He got knocked the f*** out. I can only set the fight up...I can't fight for you, punk! I didn't take a dime of your money. They call me a lot of sh*t, but never a thief. #EFFENVODKA #FRIGO #SMSAUDIO ANOTHER SH*T HEAD"
you have to be a special kind of idiot to sign to 50 cent.
In fairness these fighters were duped. They didn't think they were signing to 50. Floyd let this fool into boxing and co-signed him. They all signed…

It's not like the jury is still out on 50 as a promoter. We have a pretty big sample size that says he sucks, almost 4 years since he started SMS. Half his stable of fighters complain about not getting…

:lol1: Fitty told on himself. The fact that Floyd was mad at him for signing Dibb, the two losses to Gradovich (2nd by KO!), and current bankruptcy proves one thing: 50 cent DKSAB!
