WBC female flyweight champion Yessica Chavez (28-4-3, 4 KOs) retained her world title against three-time world champion Naoko Fujioka (15-2, 6 KOs) with an intense ten round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Centro Regional de Deportes de las Américas in Ecatepec, Estado de Mexico.

Former super welterweight champion Carlos Molina returned to the win column for the first time in over two years, needing just three rounds to knock out late replacement Manuel Garcia. The bout was Molina's first since losing his title to Cornelius 'K9' Bundrage last October. The 32-year old career spoiler has seen the past few years marred by ring inactivity, last year's trials and tribulations due to his being arrested and ordered back to Mexico. Molina (23-6-2, 6KOs) was supposed to face Juan Carlos Raygoza, but was forced to settle for Garcia (13-11-2, 5KOs) late in fight week. The change in opposition made no difference to the former champ, who picked up his first knockout win since April '11.

'King' Carlos Molina hasn't been given much reason to feel regal in recent times, but will be given the royal treatment upon his return to the ring. The former super welterweight champion has been added to the September 19 bill in Ecatepec, Mexico. He will face countryman Juan Carlos Raygoza on a card topped a flyweight title fight between Arely Mucino and Jessica Chavez. Also on the show, unbeaten featherweight contender Andres 'Jaguarcito' Gutierrez will face Daniel Diaz in a scheduled 10-round clash. Both bouts will air live on Televisa in Mexico. It has yet to be determined if Molina's fight will be added to the broadcast, but event handlers are eager to have him on the show. "We look forward to working with 'King' Carlos and his quest to regain a world title," said Oswaldo Kuchle.

The World Boxing Council has been notified of an agreement for the mandatory bout between WBC flyweight champion Arely “Ametralladora” Muciño (21-2-2, 10 KO’s) and challenger Yessica “Kika” Chávez (23-4-3, 4 KO´s), on September 19th . Muciño conquered the Green and Gold championship belt, after defeating Shindo Go by unanimous decision in December 2014.

This weekend’s edition of ‘Sabados de Box’ on Televisa pits Mexico versus Argentina in the main event and co-feature attraction in Ecatepec, Mexico.
