W. Klitschko: Haye Needs Us To Be Relevant, Earn Money

By Luke Furman

IBF/WBO/IBO/WBA heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 50KOs), who continues to train for a November 10th defense in Hamburg against Mariusz Wach (27-0, 15KOs), laughed at the recent attempt by David Haye to further himself in the WBO rankings.

At the WBO's recent convention in Florida, the oganization discussed whether Haye, Denis Boytsov or Seth Mitchell should be chosen for a mandatory shot at Wladimir in 2013. No final decision was made.

Haye has been making a lot of noise for a fight with older brother Vitali Klitschko, who holds the WBC championship, but Wladimir doesn't see any reason why he or Vitali should even consider Haye for a future fight.

"You know, David Haye is still being taken far too seriously. If he wouldn't have lost against me last year, so clearly, the fight might still be kind of interesting. But I beat him and left him confused. Neither I nor Vitali need David Haye. But he needs us to stay relevant in the public and he needs us to earn any decent money in the ring," Wladimir said.

[QUOTE=D-MiZe;12651541]Haye could make a lot more than the Klitschkos combined if he wanted to. Not only would attract a lot of attention over here, the Americans would really take to him too. He should've pursued fights with the American contenders…

[QUOTE=Freedom.;12651923]Not much, but Manuel Charr wouldn't have been KOed by age light heavyweight 40 Carl Thompson or knocked down by super middleweight Lolenga Mock. Chisora wasn't the same after being hit for 36 rounds by three giant heavyweights: Fury, Helenius,…

[QUOTE=Andrew5550;12652313]I agree. I've been known to push the Haye agenda, but only when guys like Freedom post as if the klitschkos fell down from heaven and entertained us all. But when they are laying it out there like that, it's…

[QUOTE=D-MiZe;12652259]Straight up one of the biggest problems on this forum. They say they're neutral but they're always pushing an agenda. Even when you take a neutral stance on something you're pushed into one of the categories. A lot of it…
