(April 1, 2024) – Unbeaten junior welterweight contender Lindolfo Delgado has signed a multi-year contract extension with Top Rank.

The 2016 Mexican Olympian, who scored an impressive seventh-round stoppage victory over Carlos Sanchez last Friday at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, looks to continue his career momentum as he prepares to target the division’s elite.

Delgado is expected to make his ring return this summer.

“Lindolfo Delgado has the talent and work ethic to become a world champion, and I am pleased that he’s chosen to sign a contract extension with Top Rank,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “We have big plans for Lindolfo and look forward to seeing him back in the ring soon.”

Delgado said, “I’m thrilled to continue working with a tremendous team at Top Rank. They do an amazing job at promoting fighters. I will continue working hard in the gym so that I’m ready for the big fights. I will become a world champion.”

“Top Rank made the commitments Delgado needed and wanted,” said Rick Mirigian, Delgado’s manager. “They have moved him well and see him as a world champion soon, along with plans for him to fight in Mexico. Delgado is ready for Teofimo Lopez and anyone else Top Rank has to offer.”

Delgado (20-0, 15 KOs) debuted as a pro in April 2017 and compiled an 11-0 record before signing with Top Rank in March 2021. That June, he overcame a nearly two-year layoff to beat Salvador Briceño via eight-round decision. The following year, he transitioned to contender status by upsetting then-unbeaten knockout artist Omar Aguilar via unanimous decision in August. In 2023, he went 3-0, decisioning Clarence Booth over eight one-sided rounds in February, outpointing Jair Valtierra across 10 rounds in August, and crushing Luis Hernandez in only four rounds in November.
