Trainer Robert McCracken, along with IBF/WBA 168-pound champion Carl Froch, were left with a "sour taste" in their mouths after being booed in the aftermath of the ninth round stoppage of George Groves in Manchester. Most of the fans in attendance felt the stoppage was premature, as Groves was ahead on all of the scorecards after rocking the champion several times in the bout.

Mracken told Sky Sports' Ringside:  "I think first and foremost it left a sour taste in our mouths. There were highly-experienced people in the sport that are clearly of the opinion that the stoppage was right. I've heard he (George) was rolling punches and waiting for Carl to wear himself out. He was bang in trouble, no doubt about that.

"To stage a comeback like Carl did, albeit that the referee jumped in two or three seconds early, and to get booed out of the ring is a really poor show. We are kind of stewing from that. It was very disappointing considering all that he's achieved in his career, all the fighters that he has beaten and also the memorable comeback he had on Saturday."
