Hot British talent Liam Walsh will defend his WBO European Lightweight title against former two-time WBO World Champion Scott Harrison on Saturday 20th April at Wembley Arena. The fight will features as chief support on Frank Warren’s big show headlined by Nathan Cleverly’s WBO World Light-Heavyweight title defence against Robin Krasniqi, plus the return of heavyweight Dereck Chisora, live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546). Walsh, who also holds the Commonwealth Super-Featherweight title, is unbeaten in 13 fights and won the WBO European Lightweight crown last July at West Ham United’s Boleyn Ground on the David Haye-Dereck Chisora undercard, halting Italian Domenico Urbano - who had never been stopped before - inside eight rounds.

Long-troubled former featherweight titleholder Scott Harrison has lost his appeal of an assault conviction and could soon begin a four-year prison sentence, according to The Scottish Sun. Harrison, 35, had been found guilty of being part of a group in 2007 that assaulted three men at a Spanish brothel. He “could now be hauled back to serve his sentence within weeks,” the newspaper said, citing an unnamed source that said Harrison has no ability to automatically appeal the conviction, though he could attempt a last-ditch effort to save himself “on constitutional grounds.”

It may be a new year, but it’s still old news for Scott Harrison. That’s because the former featherweight titleholder is once again in legal trouble, this time for a pair of alleged incidents involving a former girlfriend. Harrison appeared in court on New Year’s Eve, a day after allegedly “forcing his way” inside the woman’s home and “shouting, swearing, damaging a TV and scaring his ex-girlfriend,” according to Scotland newspaper The Evening Times.

By Daniel Vano - BoxingScene.com understands that the highly anticipated all Scottish clash between Scott Harrison and John Simpson will go ahead as planned in Glasgow’s Kelvin Hall, despite Harrison being sentenced to four years in prison yesterday. An insider in Harrison’s training camp told us: “The fight is still going ahead as planned on the 1st of December. Steve Williams [who is training Scott in Spain] is in contact with Alex Morrison — Harrison’s manager and promoter— and both are working continually behind the scenes. The fight is still very much on.”

Scott Harrison will appeal a new four-year jail sentence for assaulting three men in Spain, according to his father. The former WBO featherweight champion was convicted at a court in Malaga, where he served a previous 30-month term for a separate 2005 assault. The second incident took place in 2007, and the Spanish authorities considered his previous record in passing sentence. Lead judge Julian Cruz said: "Harrison is not a first-time offender and his criminal record reflects a prior assault conviction.

Former featherweight titleholder Scott Harrison had tried to start anew, returning to the ring after prison time halted his career. Alas, his past has caught up with him — Harrison has been sentenced to four more years behind bars for an assault case dating back to 2007, according to British newspaper The Scotsman.

Manager Alex Morrison has confirmed that former champion Scott Harrison (27-2-2, 15KOs) is going to face super featherweight John Simpson (24-9, 11KOs) on December 1 at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, Scotland. The fight will be Harrison's third since June 29th, when the boxer returned from a layoff that began in November of 2005. Harrison was dealing with numerous legal issues, prison stints and substance abuse problems.

Olympic Gold medal winner Audley Harrison (28-5, 21KOs), 40-years-old, says that he “lived a lie” during his boxing career and plans to show the real Audley on October 13th at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

Frank Warren has told Scott Harrison to be patient and keep working for a return to world title action after the former champion continued his comeback with a points win in Glasgow on Saturday night. Harrison, who won 10 world titles at featherweight before a six-and-a-half-year absence from the sport, most of which was spent in a Spanish jail, was underwhelmed after the six-round contest against Joe Elfidh. Harrison put his 32-year-old Nottinghamshire opponent down in the first round but lacked a spark in the rest of the contest, not showing the speed and determination to finish the job that marked his first comeback fight.
