The WBC recently ordered an mandatory eliminator between junior middleweight contenders Alfredo Angulo and Vanes Martirosyan. The winner would face WBC champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who defends his title against Alfonso Gomez on September 17 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Speaking with BoxingScene.com's Luis Sandoval, Alvarez said the winner deserves his shot at the title.

"Both are very good fighters. I think they both deserve a shot with me. I know they are both good fighters, I repeat, but I'm going to prepare well for anybody. Whether it's Angulo, Martirosyan, or whoever. My first thing is Alfonso Gomez and then I'll think about the other guys," Alvarez told BoxingScene.com.
