Trainer Freddie Roach would still like to see a rematch between Manny Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38KOs) and Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs).

Both fighters are now retired since their financially successful battle last May in Las Vegas, which saw Mayweather win a twelve round unanimous decision.

Mayweather retired in September after winning a twelve round decision over Andre Berto. Pacquiao walked away from the ring last month after winning his trilogy fight with Timothy Bradley.

Mayweather has been teasing the public with the possibility of returning to the ring. The biggest fight for him, financially, would be rematch with Pacquiao.

Pacquiao has now become a senator in the Philippines. His new political position will likely not provide him with enough time to hold a proper training camp."

"Yes, Manny ended his career. But personally I can say that it is very difficult to finish a career in boxing, because this sport simply draws you back in. Right now he's going to take the post of senator, so I'm not sure that he would provide him with enough time to both be a senator and a boxer, but I'm happy for him whatever the outcome. We would like Manny to fight Mayweather again. If this happens, it would be great....if not, then of course nothing bad will happen," Roach said.

"Maybe [Pacquiao will] be back, it might be possible. This all depends on how everything will unfold in his life. Becoming a senator, he may simply not have the time to still be a boxer. I think Mayweather will be a priority if Pacquiao decides to return. I was not very happy with their first fight, but I think a new fight would be much better. I'd like to see them fight again."
