Guillermo Rigondeaux, the WBA's 122-pound champion, wants to put on a show next month.

The boxer will make a mandatory defense of his title against Mexico's Moises Flores, as part of the undercard to the HBO Pay-Per-View event that is headlined by the light heavyweight rematch between Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward.

The card takes place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The fight will be Rigondeaux's first fight in eleven months.

Rigondeaux is very eager to fight, but he's also not holding his breath until he and his opponent are actually in the ring.

The two-time Olympic gold medal winner wants to punish Flores for his trash talking.

"I still do not think [I'm actually fighting] so the bell rings. There's still a month and I've had so many things happen, other opponents have fallen out. Until I throw the first punch at Flores and feel the impact, because until I do not believe it," Rigondeaux told George Ebro.

"[Flores] has said that he is going to do this to me, that he is going to do other things to me, but let him face me and let's see how he reacts ... They are all the same, but when the moment of truth comes - they know that Rigondeaux is not going to forgive. ''

"I want to remind the public of everything I am and what I know how to do it. For a warrior like me it is very difficult not to throw blows. Everybody knows my story, I fight a fight today and the next in a year, but I concentrate on myself and heal the wounds in training. Fortunately, there is an audience that knows what good boxing is, which recognizes my abilities. This is what I deserve and so do the fans of boxing, this fight can break the cycle of having so little action in the ring."
