Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City - WBC lightweight champion Adrien Broner (26-0, 22 KOs) left a lasting impression on British challenger Gavin Rees (37-2-1, 19 KOs). Rees, who wasn't happy with his failed strategy, was blown away by Broner's power. He was punished in the third, and then suffered knockdowns in the fourth and fifth rounds.

Rees' team bragged about his own power prior to the match but says the punching power of Broner shocked him.

"I'm disappointed in my performance," Rees said. "I made a lot of mistakes. I think I have a better skill set than that. He hits incredibly hard for a lightweight. I knew he hit hard, but the power just stunned me. He's the best I've ever been in with."
