In preparation for his bout this Saturday night versus Tomas Mendez at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, California, lightweight prospect Jose Ramirez was able to get in valuable sparring sessions with WBC junior welterweight titlist Viktor Postol (28-0, 12KOs), who faces WBO belt-holder Terence Crawford on July 23rd.

"It's great experience, I'm very comfortable in there because I have a lot of confidence within me in the ring,"said Ramirez this past Saturday after his days work at the Wild Card Boxing Club.

"I've been with Manny Pacquiao when I was real young so I'm comfortable in there. It's always great work when I'm able to spar and work with the best."

Ramirez, who has a record of 17-0 (12 KO's) has also moved around with Miguel Cotto in the past.

"It's just a good feeling because you're doing your job the right way and when you step in the ring for a fight you're ready because of all the hard work was done in the gym,"said the 23-year old from Avenal, California, who made the decision to lease an apartment in Los Angeles last year in order to fully concentrate on his career and work with noted trainer, Freddie Roach (who is also preparing Postol for the fight with Crawford).

Ramirez-Mendez will be the featured attraction on this weeks edition of 'Solo Boxeo' on UniMas.
