Northern Quest Casino, Airway Heights, Washington - Junior welterweight Ruslan Provodnikov (21-1, 14KOs) knocked out David Torres (21-3-2, 13KOs) in the sixth round. Provodnikov dropped Torres easy with the first hard shot. Torres made it up and started getting a beating from Provodnikov until the bell. After the first round, Provodnikov slowed down the pace and piled up the points with a higher workrate. In the sixth round, a straight right hand dropped Torres again for the count of nine. Provodnikov pinned Torres against the ropes, and unleashed a monster combination to put him down hard. The fight was stopped at that moment by the referee, as the ringside physicians were called in to help Torres.
In a ten round lightweight brawl, Ji-Hoon Kim (23-7, 18KOs) won a gusty ten round unanimous decision over Yakubu Amidu (20-3, 18KOs). Kim wins two in a row, while Amidu's four fight win streak has been snappen. The scores were 96-94, 98-92 and 97-93.
