Omar Chavez reappeared through the front door with a two round knockout of Venezuelan Pablo Vazquez, who was dropped three times at the Foro Tecate in Culiacan. Chavez (29-2, 22 KOs) punished him with his left hand and killed the body of Vazquez (22-5, 19 KOs).

The son of a legend was coming off a long layoff after suffering another decision loss to Jorge "Maromerito" Páez. He dropped  Vazquez with two big hooks to the body in the first and landed hard shots to the head. In the second, a n overhand right dropped Vazquez again. He beat the count but then Chavez punished him with combination punching that sent him down for a third time and the referee stopped the fight affter Venezuelan boxer took more punishment.

In the co-feature, Ricardo Dominguez scored a controversial unanimous decision over Filipino Al Sabaupan. The scores were 97-92, 98-90 and 97-91.

Also on the card, Saul Roman knocked out Jose Pinzon in the ninth round of action. The fight was a war with Roman and Pinzon going down several times in the fight. Pinzon took a lot of punishment before the match was finally stopped.
