Floyd Mayweather Jr. laughed Thursday when asked about rumors that he and Conor McGregor traveled on the same private jet during their infamous promotional tour last month.

Mayweather clarified that they flew on separate planes during an interview session with reporters prior to an open workout at the Mayweather Boxing Gym in Las Vegas. Nearly a month later, some people still believe that Mayweather (49-0, 26 KOs) and McGregor (21-3, 18 KOs in MMA) traveled together throughout their four-city, four-day tour to promote their 12-round, 154-pound boxing match August 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“It was crazy,” Mayweather said. “Everybody was like, ‘Mayweather and McGregor, this is staged. They’re flying on the same jet.’ No, we’re not flying on the same jet. For this tour, the tour was so huge – normally on the tour, in the past, before I had my own jet – jets, gotta put an ‘s’ on the end – he had a jet that was chartered that had the same name, the same chartering company. I had the same jet that was chartered from the same company. You know, it’s all under one umbrella.

“So I guess every time he land, you see the same name [on the plane]. Then when I land, you see the same name. So it’s like, ‘Mayweather and McGregor’s on the same jet.’ But we was in three countries and four cities in probably four days, right?”

Mayweather was asked if he had any personal interaction with McGregor while they waited to board separate private jets.

“When I seen him in New York – they showed New York,” Mayweather said, referring to Showtime’s “All Access” reality show filmed to promote Mayweather-McGregor. “I let him know, like straight up. I’m gonna let everybody know what I said. I said, ‘What’s up, little dude?’ He was with all his guys and that particular time I was just with all my female friends. You know how I say – having one is too close to having none. … I think I had four or five of my girls with me, and then my daughter was with me.

“And I just let him know, with or without my security or without my team, I’m still tough. You know? I ain’t no bitch. I ain’t no punk. I’m just letting you know that. So I still said something to him. I said, ‘What’s up, little dude?,’ just to see if he wanted to pop off, like he was popping off when he was on stage.”

McGregor didn’t respond, according to Mayweather.

“Oh,” Mayweather said, “he didn’t saying nothing.”
