Back on April 11th in Puerto Rico, Rocky Martinez gutted out a tough twelve round decision over Orlando Salido to capture the WBO super featherweight belt. It was a grind'em out affair that saw Salido hit the deck twice in the first half of the fight and then battle back with a persistent body attack in the late rounds.

But it was Martinez who had his hands raised at the end of this grueling affair. It was one of the best fights that has taken place thus far in 2015.

And it looks like we'll be getting another go-around between the two. The original contract contained a rematch clause.

But as Sean Gibbons of Zanfer Promotions pointed out - "Salido and Martinez, first of all, it doesn't matter about a rematch clause, you really don't need that type of stuff when you're dealing with PR Best Boxing and Zanfer. We are absolutely committed to making the second fight when we made the first fight. So it's in talks, we're getting very close to making it happen in the first half of September. The fight will absolutely take place."

This time around they would like to have this fight take place somewhere on the West Coast and on a bigger platform. The first fight headlined a small, independent pay-per-view.

"The goal is to have it in the U.S. and we would prefer a West Coast venue because that's where the fight belongs. There's also a lot of great Hispanic and Puerto Rican fans and also to be seen on a premium channel, absolutely, because first time around it was a tremendous fight," stated Gibbons, who says that both HBO and Showtime have shown interest.

"I think it's something that if more people could get out there and get behind it, it's good for the boxing fans."
