New York, NY - You don't see or hear of many top fighters calling out the name of Middleweight Champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez. Martinez, the WBC Diamond belt Middleweight Champion, and 2010 "Fighter of the Year" is currently riding a four-fight win streak (W12 Kelly Pavlik, KO2 Paul Williams, TKO8 Serhiy Dzinziruk, TKO11 Darren Barker) that has seen him climb the pound-for-pound list, falling behind only Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, both of whom have so far expressed no serious interest in facing Martinez.

Matthew Macklin says he's determined to be the man to end Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez's reign as World Middleweight Champion but he's refusing to resort to trash talking in a bid to get the Argentinian in the ring with him.

Middleweight Matthew Macklin (28-3, 19KOs) believes Darren Barker showed him the way to beat WBC Diamond champion Sergio Martinez. Macklin sat ringside last Saturday night in Atlantic City, and scouted Martinez (48-2-2, 28 KOs) as he knocked out Barker in eleven rounds. Macklin plans to make his debut for promoter Lou DiBella in November. If everything goes well in November, Macklin is expecting the strong possibility of facing Martinez in March. DiBella also promotes Martinez.

Middleweight Matthew Macklin (28-3, 19KOs) was not too impressed with Sergio Martinez's win last Saturday night in Atlantic City. Macklin sat ringside at the Boardwalk Hall and watched Martinez (48-2-2, 28 KOs) stop previously undefeated Darren Barker in eleven rounds. Martinez, the WBC's Diamond champion at 160-pounds, had some trouble before the stoppage. Macklin and Martinez are both promoted by Lou DiBella and a fight between the two of them is possible for 2012.
