Mexico's super middleweight contender Marco Antonio "Veneno" Rubio is a common opponent for middleweight champions David Lemieux and Gennady "GGG" Golovkin - who on October 17th will face each other in an IBF/IBO/WBA title unification from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Rubio and Gabriel Rosado are the only two common opponents for the middleweight punchers. Rubio, like everyone else, expects a knockout ending.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (28-1-1, 22 KOs) scored an impressive unanimous decision over Marco Antonio “El Veneno” Rubio (59-8-1, 51 KOs) Sunday afternoon in the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on CBS main event from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dirrell proved to be too fast for Rubio as he consistently beat the Mexican veteran to the punch and was able to control the fight. Rubio hung tough throughout the fight, continuing to come forward in his attempts to catch Dirrell.

Anthony Dirrell looks to rebound from his first career defeat as he faces longtime middleweight contender Marco Antonio Rubio, who moves up in weight. The super middleweights collide at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, airing live on CBS in the latest installment of Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) series. Dirrell engages in his first fight since losing his super middleweight title to Badou Jack in his first defense this past April. The defeat was a letdown after his emotional win over Sakio Bika in their rematch last August. Rubio also looks to rebound from a tough night in the office his last time out. The veteran slugger from Mexico hasn't fought since a knockout loss to unbeaten middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin last October. It is also the first fight above the middleweight limit for the 35-year old Mexican slugger since 2012.

Anthony Dirrell returned to the win column after pitching a shutout over Marco Antonio Rubio in their 10-round super middleweight fight Sunday afternoon at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Scores were 100-90 across the board in favor of Dirrell, who was fighting for the first time since losing his super middleweight title earlier this year.

BoxingScene.com has been advised that a doubleheader has been finalized for Premier Boxing Champions [PBC] on CBS card from Corpus Christi Texas. The card will feature a bantamweight rematch between Tomoki Kameda (31-1, 19KOs) and WBA 'regular' champion Jamie McDonnell (26-2-1, 12KOs). The two fighters clashed earlier this year on a PBC card in Hidalgo, Texas in April.
